Milan star Kaka has been voted as the best Brazilian player in Europe by the Sambafoot.com association.
The Rossoneri ace scooped the award and was presented with it at Milan's Milanello training centre. The winner of the Sambagold trophy is voted for by former notable Brazilian players and coaches as well as users of the Sambafoot website.
Kaka won the inaugural trophy for being the best Brazilian football this side of the Atlantic for 2008. The Milan man won with 25 percent of the vote, with Manchester City's Robinho taking second place. Sevilla's Luis Fabiano finished third.
A statement on Milan's official website reads:
"The most recent trophy won by Kaka is the Samba Gold. The player was awarded with the prise at Milanello and he is recognised as the best Brazilian player in Europe for 2008.
"Ricky portrays all the great qualities of Brazilian football around the world thanks to his team-mates."
