The Ghana Football Association has agreed a new US$ 9 million deal with telephony company Globacom as the official telecommunication partner for the national team.
The package - eight million Ghana cedis - is over a period of five years and an annual US$ 1.5 million will be paid and products worth US$ 300,000.
The US$ 1.8 million exceeds the 1.5 million dollars paid by headline sponsors Goldfields Ghana Limited.
The deal with Glo was expected after MTN's US$ 750,000 sponsorship package with the Black Stars expired last month.
The huge package will lubricate the Black Stars 2010 World Cup qualification campaign.
Globacom late last year secured the headline sponsorship rights of the Premier League in an annual US$ 3 million deal for five years.
The Nigeria-based telecommunication giant also sponsors the Super Eagles.
