Ghana captain Stephen Appiah put up an "excellent performance" for English side Tottenham as they beat lower division Hayes 2-0 on Wednesday.
The former Juventus midfielder is being observed by the Premier League club after leaving Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
Appiah played for 80 minutes before being substituted to the applause of the few team officials at the game.
A source at the game play behind-closed-doors told Ghanasoccernet: "Appiah played an excellent game that pleasantly surprised those at the game.
"The excellent performance he put up is unlikely to be ignored by the club. He worked hard throughout the game with excellent passes."
Appiah has been training with the club since the start of last week and his quality and work-rate have impressed the coaching staff at White Hart Lane.
He has brushed aside concerns over his fitness and health by passing the club’s comprehensive medicals.
With less than five months of the season remaining, Spurs are desperate for an immediate fix to their midfield inadequacies.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United boss Joe Kinnear says he is keen on signing the Ghana captain.
