A circuit court in Sunyani on Tuesday remanded Boakye Addo, a 36-year-old security person of MTN in Sunyani, for defiling a 14-year-old girl.
Addo pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement and he would reappear at court on January 13.
Police Chief Inspector Alex Fosu, told the court presided over by Mr. Kofi Ohene Essel that on January 3, the victim attended a Church programme with her parents in Sunyani.
Prosecution said the girl and her friends decided to while away the time in town and she met Addo at his work place and they exchanged their mobile phone numbers.
Chief Insp. Fosu told the court that at about 1930 hours on Wednesday, Addo called the victim on her mobile phone to meet him at the market place.
Prosecution said Addo forcibly had sex with the victim at the market and warned her not to disclose her ordeal to anybody.
Chief Inspector Fosu said Addo again called the girl on her phone requesting her to meet him in front of a Goil filling station in Sunyani.
Prosecution said the girl informed her parents about the arrangement and they followed her to the station and caused the arrest of the accused.
