Outgoing ministers of state under the Kufuor led administration are said to be vacating their official residence, barely a day after Prof. John Evans Atta Mills was declared president elect.
Even though the constitution mandates them to occupy the residence three months after their tenure of office elapses, some prefer to do so with dispatch.
The move effectively puts an end to situations where former ministers of state had to be forcefully ejected to make way for incoming appointees.
Joe Ghartey, Attorney General and Minister of Justice told Joy News he is more than ready to vacate his residence.
Asked whether his official handing over note is ready for the incoming administration, Mr. Ghartey responded in the affirmative, saying it was ready some six months ago.
According to him, there was no guarantee he would be maintained as Minister of Justice even if the NPP won the election, for which reason he had to prepare his handing over notes.
He hinted all the other ministries have done same to facilitate a smooth transition.
