Access Bank Ghana today acknowledged its 10,000th customer in the recently launched Big Deal promotion. The campaign, launched in August 2014, was designed to incentivise Ghanaians to open savings accounts and secure their financial future, as part of Access Banks financial inclusion strategy.
Madame Nelly Arko-Smith from Tema was revealed as the 10,000th customer to open a savings account at the Tema Community 1 branch of Access Bank, in the ongoing Big Deal promotion.
“Access Bank is delighted to honour Madame Nelly Arko-Smith, who has achieved a great milestone in the course of this campaign. We are pleased that so many Ghanaians are seizing the opportunity to save and in so doing, are securing their futures financially. We thank you Nelly and all of our customers as we make financial services available for all,” said Matilda Asante-Asiedu, Head of Corporate Communications and Brand Management, Access Bank Ghana.
On her part, Madame Nelly Arko-Smith expressed appreciation for the recognition from Access Bank, and lauded the Bank’s initiative to encourage Ghanaians to adopt a savings culture. According to Madame Arko-Smith, she was motivated to open a new savings account with Access Bank upon hearing the amazing prizes that the BIG Deal Promo had to offer.
“My home needs some major improvements and I’m looking forward to being that lucky winner of the luxury furnishing for my living and dining rooms as well as my bedroom and the kitchen from Casa Trassaco” she concluded.
As part of the Big Deal Promo, Access Bank will be unveiling the first set of winners in a mini-draw on September 30 in Kumasi. Over 50 customers who have entered the promo will win prices. Not only does the campaign bring the importance of saving to the fore, but it also gives consumers the chance to win a grand prize of a luxury home furnishing, in addition other household appliances such as flat screen televisions, refrigerators, microwave ovens, food processors, among others.
“We encourage consumers to come on board and participate in the campaign and reap the benefits of doing so. We are offering the public household items that bring comfort to life as a way of communicating the significance of saving for future comfort and growth,” Stephen Abban, Group Head for Personal and Private Banking stated.
In Ghana, approximately 44% of the adult population are excluded from financial services, and when it comes to saving, they do so at home. The Access Bank “Big Deal” Promo was therefore launched to encourage members of the public to sign up to a range of flexible savings and current account options at Access Bank to empower them financially. Existing customers are also expected to improve their financial well being by increasing their savings deposits.
Existing and new customers are required to deposit GHS200 cedis into their account and grow their balances over the three-month period to join the expected 200 customers who will be rewarded with the exciting prizes in two mini-draws and a grand draw.
Access Bank Ghana is one of the fastest growing banks in the Ghana, having demonstrated consistent growth in its financial performance over the past four years. The bank is focused on setting standards for sustainable practices that will engender prosperity for all its stakeholders.
