Avoid ethnic politics- Anglican Bishop

Christians in the Tamale Metropolis have marked the birth of Christ with special services of thanksgiving, adoration and merry-making. Bishop Emmanuel A. Arongo of the Aglionby Memorial Anglican Cathedral, who preached a message of peace, urged the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic party (NPP) to avoid tribal politics and also ensure peaceful co-existence among their supporters. He warned against tribal politics, saying; “we should cherish our differences and let them be a source of strength and unity rather than disunity; there is no need for tribal politics, we need to see ourselves as one people in Christ Jesus”. He also urged the political leaders to educate their supporters to understand that, being in different political camps did not amount to being enemies and refusing to talk to one another or attacking each other physically. At the Winners Chapel International Assistant Pastor Stephen Osei-Bonsu, who delivered a sermon on consecration, reminded Christians that the essence of Christmas was not only for merry-making but learn to live sin-free lives. He said Christ was born to reconcile man to God and that men could live lives free of sin if they change their thinking and attitude for the better towards things. Pastor Osei-Bonsu urged Christians to constantly make the word of God their companion to enable them overcome temptation and sin. Source: GNA
