The People’s National Convention (PNC) Parliamentary candidates in the Volta Region on Tuesday asked their supporters to vote for the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) John Atta Mills in the December 28 Presidential run-off.
Mr Emmanuel Azinogo, the Party’s National Second Vice-Chairman and Parliamentary Candidate for Ketu-South announced the group’s decision when he addressed party supporters and media at Viepe in Aflao.
He said they were of the view that Professor Atta Mills possessed all the attributes required of a President.
Mr Azinogo said the PNC would not repeat the “miscalculated support” it gave the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2000 Presidential run-off which led to the “frame-up and imprisonment” of Alhaji Malam Issah who was Minister of Sports in the NPP administration.
Mr. Joseph Wemegah, Regional Organizer of the Party said support for Professor Mills by PNC members was the best they could offer to push the agenda to re-unite the country, fight corruption and protect the interests of the vulnerable who form the majority of the Ghanaian population.
