Achimota School defeated Keta Senior High School (Ketasco) 8-6 to win this year’s Inter High Schools Basketball Championship played at the Aviation Social Centre in Accra on Sunday.
Aquinas Secondary School took the third position in the Boys Division by beating Chemu Secondary 15-9.
In the Girls Division, Wesley Girls High School, Cape Coast retained the trophy they won last year when they beat Sacred Heart School 13-5 with Nkwanta Senior High placing third.
For their prizes, Achimota School received a giant trophy and an amount of 800 Ghana Cedis while Ketasco had 500 Ghana Cedis.
The event dubbed ‘Sprite Ball’ was organized by Rite Multimedia and was sponsored by Coca Cola Ghana Limited.
Mr Yaw Sakyi, Chief Executive Officer of Rite Multimedia thanked the participation schools for their patronage and expressed the hope that next year’s event would be an improvement over this year’s one.
