Yesterday Saturday 20, President Goodluck Jonathan visited the site of the collapsed building of the Synagogue Church of All Nations.
The President, during his visit promised to ensure that the incident is properly investigated and necessary action taken; to avert future reoccurrence.
He also promised to work with state Governors to check incidents of collapsed buildings in the country.
It could be recalled that a six-storey building belonging to the church collapsed last week and trapped over 80 persons to death while others sustained various degrees of injuries.
The church, however, attributed the incident to a ‘strange’ aircraft, which it claimed was hovering around the church premises before the building collapsed.
Though investigations are still ongoing to unravel what led to the incident, the Lagos State Government claimed that the General overseer of the church, Prophet TB Joshua, failed to obtain approval for the building.
Therefore, the addition of more floors to the existing two-storey building was unlawful.
The state government said if there were any violation of relevant planning laws, the church would be shut down indefinitely.
