The National Media Commission (NMC) has urged the media to be cautious and reject all manner of electoral rumours and outcomes.
Mr George Sarpong, Executive Secretary of the Commission, who made the call said it was important the media appreciated that at this "critical stage", the sole legitimate authority for declaring results and officially pronouncing upon them was the Electoral Commission (EC).
The NMC congratulated the media for good job done by its successful coverage of the poll.
