There was a near tragedy at Winneba when a taxi driver drove into a group of NDC supporters undertaking a keep-fit exercise on Sunday morning, injuring 10 of them.
According to the Winneba Police, the driver whose name was not given after the incidence sought refuge at the Police Barracks.
The police said the angry supporters also damaged personal properties belonging to some police personnel.
The timely arrival of some reinforcement from the Police Training School brought the situation under control.
He said the supporters also damaged the windscreen of the taxi cab. The driver is in police custody pending further investigations.
Meanwhile the injured, including a pregnant woman are responding to treatment at the Winneba government hospital.
