President Kufuor has directed the Ghana Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, to closely monitor the health of former First Lady Madam Fatthia Nkrumah and extend to her any assistance she might require.
According to President Kufuor government would offer every support to ailing Madam Fatthia Nkrumah, the widow of Ghana’s founding President.
The former first Lady has suffered a stroke, which made it impossible for her to attend the Golden Jubilee celebrations.
Gamel Nkrumah lives with his mother in Cairo, Egypt says: “She had a stroke on Friday, 9th of February. She is paralysed. Her left side is completely paralysed. She is in a critical but stable condition in the Cairo Hospital”.
At a meeting with the only daughter of the first president, Samia Nkrumah at the Castle, President Kufuor urged Dr. Nkrumah’s children to see themselves as sons and daughters of Ghana.
Samia is in the country after 32 years to join in the Golden Jubilee celebrations.
