The death is reported of a renowned Ghanaian high life musician, Paapa Yaw Johnson. He died in the early hours of today.
The late Yaw Johnson is fondly remembered for his popular highlife hit track "Owuo".
Maame Akua Nyarko, wife of the deceased confirmed the death of her husband in an interview with Peace FM on Thursday morning.
According to her, the husband was rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, suffering from an acute stomachache, after having taken in a beverage (tea) with a friend.
Apparently, the milk used in preparing the beverage was believed to be expired.
The late Paapa Yaw Johnson left behind 5 children, three (3) boys and two (2) girls. He was 54 years.
