The National Democratic Congress Forum For Setting The Records Straight has urged Ghanaians not to look in the direction of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for a new leader.
The Forum on Tuesday said the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate has showed an abysmal leadership trait even in less than presidential capacity roles and it would be disastrous to entrust the nation’s highest office into his care.
Quoting repeatedly from a claim said to have been made by NPP politician, seasoned journalist and media investor, Nana Kofi Coomson of General Portfolio, publishers of The Chronicle group of newspapers, to the effect that he, Coomson, cannot go to bed with his eyes closed under a Government led by Nana Akufo-Addo, the forum said there must be no doubt if the crab storms out of the river to proclaim the demise of the crocodile.
“What does NPP's Nana Kofi Coomson know that the rest of Ghana need to know?”
Spokesperson for the Forum, Fifi Kwetey, charged that Nana Addo, while he served as the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, displayed a blatant lack of commitment to fight drug trafficking in the country and must, together with the Government, be held accountable for the nation’s new designation as the ‘Coke Coast’ by the world, “a sad reflection from the glorious days of ‘Gold Coast.’”
[Editor's note: Nana Kofi Coomson has agreed to grant Myjoyonline an interview on his alleged claim. Look out for his explanations shortly.]
