Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwabre West, on Sunday launched his election campaign with the inauguration of the Owusu-Ansah Fan Club at Atimatim in Kumasi.
The launch was attended by members and supporters of the party, who were presented with party paraphernalia including T-shirts. Appeal for funds was organised and supporters were educated on the voting processes.
Mr Owusu-Ansah, who is the Ashanti Regional Minister, thanked the people for their continued support and loyalty during his four year term as MP for the constituency and appealed for their votes to win the seat in the December 7, 2008 elections.
He said his assignment as MP coupled with the administration of the region was very challenging but with their unflinching support and understanding he was able to accomplish the task.
Mr Owusu-Ansah mentioned on-going road networks projects, school infrastructure and educational scholarship and appealed to the electorates to vote early on December 7 and urged them to refrain from any act that would create confusion.
Mr Albert Kan Dapaah, Minister of Defence lauded Mr Owusu-Ansah’s work and said he deserved a second chance in parliament and therefore appealed to constituency electorates to vote for him.
He indicated that past governments have worked but what the NPP had done within the past eight years was incomparable and therefore the party must be retained in power.
Mr Dapaah urged supporters to comport themselves and be law abiding because the security forces and the law would not spare any body, who would create anarchy in the country.
Mr Kwame Osei Prempeh, MP for Nsuta Kwamang asked the party members to embark on intensive membership drive.
