The Professional League Board (PLB) has opened registration of players for the 2008/2009 Onetouch Premier League.
The exercise would begin on Wednesday, October 29 and close on Friday, November 7.
Abrah Appiah, Chairman of the PLB who announced this at the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Ordinary Congress on Tuesday night in Accra said the date was chosen after a consultation with the Premier League Clubs.
He said publication and verification of the names of registered players would take place from November 10 - 21.
The next Premier League has also been fixed to commence on Sunday, November 23 at the various approved centres across the country.
Meanwhile, Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the GFA, has announced an increment in sponsorship deal by mobile communication giants, Onetouch.
He said Onetouch had pumped 2.5 million Ghana cedis into the 16-team league which represents a significant percentage increase of last season’s 1.7 million Ghana cedis.
Three newly promoted sides, Bechem Chelsea, Sekondi Eleven Wise and Saint Mirren will join the 13 others for the new soccer season.
The trio takes the place of Accra Great Olympics, Tema Real Sportive and Zaytuna United who have been relegated to the First Division.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko is the defending champions of the Onetouch Premier League.
