The exhibition of the voters register ended Saturday with many exhibition centres across the country recording average patronage.
The week-long exhibition of the voters register commenced throughout the country on Sunday October 5 2008 with voters generally showing apathy towards the exercise.
The seven-day event, which formed part of the Electoral Commission's (EC) efforts to clean the Register, which is suspected to be over-bloated, took place at all polling stations nationwide from 0700 hours to 1800 daily.
It afforded voters the opportunity to verify their names and other particulars on the Register, as well as ask for corrections of wrong data.
Relatives were also to report at the exhibition centres to get the names of dead relatives deleted.
At the Flagstaff JSS polling station in Kanda electoral area of the Ayawaso East constituency, of Greater Accra Region, only 128 out of 401 voters on the Register had checked their names as at 1400 hours on Saturday, the Exhibition Officer Emmanuel Agboada told the GNA.
At the Salem Secondary School polling station in the Osu Clottey lectoral Accra of Klottey Korle Constituency, 600 out of 1,200 voters had checked their names, while at the nearby Salem Number Three Primary School 415 out of 1,056 voters had come to verify their names at the time GNA visited.
The Exhibition Officer, Ms Beauty Esi Doh-Nani said relatives of nine deceased persons had come to initiate action for their names to be deleted.
At the Temporary Booth G.Maa also of Klottey Korle, the Exhibition Officer, Samuel Davies told GNA that only 269 out of the 965 voters on the register had come to check their names as at 1500 hours on Saturday.
Dr Kwadwo Afari Gyan, Electoral Commissioner, told the GNA that the exhibition exercise had officially ended.
