The senior national team the black stars are set to launch an assault on their Lesotho counterparts in their must win final nations and world cup qualifier to be played at the Essipong stadium in Sekondi on Saturday.
In line with that, sixteen foreign based players with six local counterparts are scheduled to begin a five-day training regime on Monday at the El-wak sports stadium.
Coach Milovan Rajevac already has the full complement of the local based players made up of Harrison Afful, Kotoko duo of Eric Bekoe, and Samuel Nkuom, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu of Berekum Arsenals and Liberty pair of Daniel Yeboah and Yaw Antwi.
Skipper Stephen Appiah is already in town together with John Boye and Prince Tagoe to join their local counterparts for Monday’s shake up.
The team will go into Saturday’s encounter with mixed feelings following the presence and absence of certain key players.
Jonathan Quartey, after a resilient performance in the Libya clash, will miss Saturdays encounter due to injury, but with the timely arrival of Deputy Skipper John Mensah, the stars defence should prove equal to the Lesotho scare.
The midfield which has always been the power house of the Black stars, will suffer a huge set back following the suspension of Laryea Kingson and combative midfielder, Michael Essien due to injury.
Coach Milovan Rajevac will be counting on the goal scoring form of striker Mathew Amoah to make a difference in Saturday’s clash.
The stars need a win to book a place in the final round of qualifiers.
