Bawumia Langum Katoo Fan Club, has been formed to support Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, running mate to New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to ensure massive victory for the NPP in Election 2008, in Accra on Saturday.
It also aimed at supporting the party to win all parliamentary seats in the Northern part of the country.
Mr Adu Mante, Adminstrative Secretary for the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North constituency, commended the group for initiating measures to ensure victory for NPP.
He advised members of the club to contact any NPP office for assistance and asked them to organised effective campaigns to persuade the electorate, especially the undecided ones, to vote for the party.
Mr Mante cautioned the members to avoid being influenced by politicians to create violence in the forthcoming elections.
Mr Daniel Wunyala, a building contractor, who was elected chairman of the club, urged members to unite and bring into the group all ethnic groupings in the Upper East and Upper West Regions.
He said apart for the political convenience, the group would be able to speak with one voice against social vices and promote development in the regions.
Mrs Agatha Bukari, was elected secretary, Madam Veronica Salifu, treasurer and James Azotibar organizer.
