Property worth millions of cedis was destroyed at the Tarkwa GOIL Filling Station in the Western Region, when a petrol tanker with registration number GT 294 caught fire at the premises.
Items destroyed include two pumps and petroleum products.
It took personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service more than two hours to bring the fire under control.
Michael Larbie, a filing station attendant said that the tanker was discharging petrol into one of the underground reservoirs when a pump got busted and ignited.
He said the driver drove the tanker away from the reservoir to prevent the fire from spreading.
