Presidential Candidate of the Convention People’s Party Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom says he would make markets safer, more hygienic and environmentally friendly, if given the nod in the December polls.
According to him, a strong local government will be put in place to ensure that building codes and other requirements are strictly enforced to prevent the unfortunate recurrence of the fire disaster that have engulfed the nation.
Dr. Nduom made the pledge when he paid a visit to the Kantamanto market to sympathise with victims of the wild fire that wiped out properties on Tuesday.
The presidential candidate was accompanied by the National Treasurer of the CPP, Mr. Mike Eghan, the Greater Accra Youth Organiser, Nii Oshu, and the Communications Director of the Campaign, Mr. Richmond Keelson and the Odododiodoo Parliamentary Candidate, Nii Odoye.
Dr. Nduom promised to make a small donation to help the victims in their quest to revive their various businesses.
At time of the visit, the fire was still burning with thick smoke all over.
