The Communications Director of the Prof. Mills’ campaign, Mr. Koku Anyidoho says the NDC has stirred the Daily Graphic into “operating in a manner that is fair”.
He said the number of NDC stories that appeared in the Tuesday, September 23, 2008 edition of paper is unprecedented.
"I haven't seen the Graphic like this before with enough of NDC stories."
According to him, the about-turn by the paper was informed by the party’s statement of bias against it by the Graphic.
The NDC alleged that the state-owned and the nation’s biggest newspaper was giving undue coverage to the ruling NPP to the neglect of the NDC.
The statement was published by the Daily Graphic against which the allegations were made.
Mr. Anyidoho told Joy News the NDC had woken the Daily Graphic to its responsibilities of ensuring fair coverage for all political parties.
"We are deep in the throes of political season, everybody is campaigning and needs coverage, it is not only Nana Akufo-Addo who is campaigning," he added.
Even though the party had the choice of going to the National Media Commission for redress, it opted to use the public domain, a strategy he reckoned has worked for the party.
The editor of the newspaper, Ransford Tetteh has declined commenting on the allegations except to say the Graphic found it prudent to publish the allegations.
