Mr Salathiel Kwaku Takyi, an activist of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Offinso South Constituency has said that “There is peace and harmony among members and supporters of the party in the district.
Mr Takyi, also known as “Joe Sala”, said it was only a few people who were trying to make noise on certain FM stations to create the impression that the incumbent Member of Parliament would not be retained by the Party.
Speaking to newsmen at Offinso on Monday, on the political developments in the constituency, Mr Takyi said the problem was just a power struggle between the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Dr. Owusu Achaw Duah and certain individuals, who wanted to wrest the seat from the incumbent.
He said as a tradition, the majority of the people in the area belong to the NPP and that it was not true that the people would vote against the party.
Mr Takyi therefore challenged the Offinso Metropolitan Chief Executive to come out with the veracity of his claim that the people have vowed to vote against Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the flag-bearer of the NPP.
“Joe Sala” urged the MCE to change his attitude and help in the development of the Municipality and the party, saying, anything short of that, would incur the displeasure of the people.
He said the incumbent MP is loved by the people because of the good work he has done within his one and a half year term in office and needs the peoples vote to enable him to continue with the work.
