Supporters of political parties have been urged to seek for permission from individual house owners before posting party posters on their walls.
This is to help forestall a possible confrontation between such house owners and the party, as house owners belonged to different political parties.
Mr Emmanuel Victor Boadu, a Senior Field Officer at the Asante Akim South Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), who gave the advice, noted however that, defacing party posters was a criminal offence and cautioned perpetrators to desist from the act.
He was addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of Odubi near Obogu on political tolerance on Monday.
He entreated house owners who disapproved of posters pasted on their walls to call a party member to remove it to ensure peace.
Mr Boadu noted that every Ghanaian had a role to play in the nation’s quest to ensure a successful election, adding that, stability of the country must be placed above individual interest.
He urged the youth not to allow themselves to be used to foment trouble, but rather challenge politicians to make good their promises when they assume office.
Nana Ofosu Ababio, Chief of Odubi commended the NCCE for their role in helping to ensure that a peaceful election was held in December, and stated that he would ensure that all drinking spots in the community were closed on election day.
