The President John Agyekum Kufuor leads one of four packs of NPP campaign teams through the Western and Ashanti Regions, three months to the general elections.
The other groups will be headed by the NPP flag-bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, his running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahaha.
Speaking to Joy News, head of communications for the party’s campaign team, Dr. Arthur Kennedy, said each of the teams has been tasked to a specific region and target group.
While President Kufuor is billed to take charge of the Western and Ashanti Regions, the Vice President and Dr. Bawumia will focus on the three northern regions.
Meanwhile Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to continue his tour of the Brong Ahafo Region today Monday, September 1, 2008.
He moves in with sitting Members of Parliament to garner more support for the party in the region.
The NPP last week wrapped up its tour of the Central Region where its officials say has made tremendous inroads.
