The Ghana Water Company Limited in partnership with Acqua Link, a Norwegian company will soon begin to treat sea water for domestic use.
Sample tests have already been done, and the water from the sea has been described as second to water underground in terms of quality.
Municipal Chief Executive for Ledzokuku Krowor Assembly, Ing. Ebenezer Osekere disclosed this at a media interaction organized by the assembly, at which he was answering a question as to what was being done to minimize the water crisis within the municipality.
According to Ing. Osekere, the project will be piloted in the Ledzokuku Krowor Municipality.
Meanwhile the Assembly is also exploiting means of utilizing a compost plant at the GREDA Estate at Teshie, where power could be generated to even supply the entire Municipality and possibly sell the excess to surrounding areas in the Greater Accra Region.
The project, Ing. Osekere stated, is being undertaken by a team of experts from Israel. He told ASEMPA NEWS that feasibility studies on the project have already started.
