The Director of the Koforidua Diocesan Ministerial Education Centre of the Anglican Church, Venerable Felix Annancy, has urged African Evangelists to preach the Gospel with an African understanding to make their congregation appreciate God in their daily life.
He observed that, there were no superstars in the preaching of the Gospel and explained that, evangelising was a team work and those who set aside their own desires and seek God's direction would be blessed with the talents to excel.
Venerable Annancy was preaching the sermon at a service during which the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Koforidua, the Rt. Rev. Benjamin Francis Quashie, formally licensed 29 Catechist and Evangelists to work in the Diocese.
The occasion was the first time that such a large number of Catechists and Evangelists were being licensed to work in the Diocese.
He explained that while an European Evangelist might not believe in witchcraft and its implication, it is the responsibility of an African Evangelists to explain to his fellow African to understand how the Gospel could help them overcome their fears and live in peace.
Venerable Annancy urged the Catechists and Evangelists to work with divine inspirations and zeal to bring results and free their congregation from demonic attacks for them to feel free and experience the presence of God in their ordinary daily life.
He said there were many people in the communities who were ready to give their lives to Christ if only they could get people who would show love to them and urged the newly licensed Catechists and Evangelists to set targets for themselves to help turn the outstations where they would be working into parishes.
