The annual national delegates' conference of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to round off its two terms in government kicks off today Saturday, August 16, in the Western Region capital, Takoradi.
The conference, which is also expected to set the agenda to return the NPP to power, will be held at the Sekondi College and followed by a mammoth rally at the Takoradi Polytechnic Park on Sunday, August 17.
A statement signed by Mr N. Adu Kwabena Essem, Press Secretary to the party, said the congress is also to resolve the various hitches that characterised the NPP primaries.
Reports from the Western Region indicates that the city has gone gay with thousands of party faithful fully clad in NPP paraphernalia.
Principal speakers at the conference will include the NPP National Chairman, Mr Peter Mac Manu, President John Agyekum Kufuor and a number of key Ministers who will discourse on the party's achievements during its two terms, especially with respect to the economy, education, health, employment and job creation.
The statement said representatives of other political parties were expected to attend along with members of the Diplomatic Corps and other invited guests from both Ghana and other countries.
The party's flag-bearer, the National Executive and other senior party members will attend church service to be held on the premises of the Sekondi College in the morning of Sunday, August 17 when Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will introduce his running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
