A Circuit court at Mpraeso-Kwahu has sentenced Kwame Peter 18, a radio mechanic to 18 years imprisonment on his own plea for defiling a 10-year- old girl at Kwaman near Nkawkaw.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Alex Gyamera Acheampong told the court presided over by Justice Kwabena Assuman-Adu that, on February 11, this year, three children including the victim went to the room of Peter's uncle to watch a video.
He said while watching the film, Peter entered and drove one of them away, he sent the other to purchase some fried yam for him and with the victim alone in the room; he replaced the film with a pornographic film.
The prosecutor said when Peter saw the other girl coming with the fried yam; he met her at the entrance, collected it and drove her away.
Police Chief Inspector Acheampong said Peter returned and defiled the victim and threatened her not to tell anyone otherwise she would die.
He said three days later, parents of the victim detected a change in her movement and when questioned, she narrated her ordeal to her parents who reported the matter to the police and Peter was arrested.
Police Chief Inspector Acheampong said a medical examination at the Nkawkaw Holy Family Hospital revealed that the victim had been defiled and after investigations the accused was charged with the offence.
Before he was sentenced, Peter pleaded for leniency and blamed his action on the devil.
