Supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have reportedly launched into a brutal clash at Hohoe in the Volta Region.
One person sustained serious knife injuries with property worth millions of Ghana cedis destroyed.
The police are said to be on hand to restore order. At least two persons have been arrested.
Member of Parliament (MP) for the Hohoe North constituency, Prince Ahayibor, however makes claims that the two are NDC activists.
They had been using Mr Ahayibor's official vehicle to monitor the registration process in the constituency.
He confirmed releasing his vehicle for the men.
Members of the community say the two harassed electoral officers and disrupted the registration process.
The police have remained silent on the development.
