The Head of Research and Information at the Institute of Democratic Governance, Prof. Kwame Ninsin has described polls conducted by various bodies and some political parties as unrealistic.
Speaking in an interview with Asempa News, Prof. Ninsin said several factors could influence the results of the polls, particularly places where the polls were conducted and the type of respondents the pollsters spoke to.
According to Prof. Ninsin, prevailing economic and social conditions could compel a person to say “yes or no” to any question concerning politics.
However, on voting day, the person could decide contrary to the answers he/she gave in a previous poll. He is therefore calling on people especially politicians not to take the outcome of opinion polls serious.
He rather asks for intensive education by the parties, so that the electorates could understand the issues better, before deciding on who they should give their mandate to.
