The Convention People’s Party (CPP) is to embark on a massive nationwide awareness campaign starting from the 23rd of this month (July), a day after the launch of the party’s manifesto, and the entire month of August.
The campaign will involve intense media representation by members of the party’s publicity team and other members of the party’s campaign team.
They are expected to explain the contents of the party’s manifesto, the ten-point agenda of the party’s Presidential Candidate and also to assess and monitor the performance of polling station agents recruited by the party to register first time voters and others who are interested in joining the CPP.
The party would also be holding mini rallies that will cover all ten regions in the month of August.
As part of the awareness drive, the publicity team and some members of the campaign team would make appearances on radio stations in all ten regions of the country.
They include Ashanti, Eastern, Western, Central and the three Northern Regions. The rest are Brong Ahafo, Greater Accra and Volta Regions.
The group would also be explaining the party’s position on many national issues as well as other novelty concepts that have been introduced into this year’s campaign by the CPP.
The group would for instance be explaining the rational behind the introduction of the highly commended Night Encounter with the Homeless campaign which kick-started at Agbogbloshie market in Accra last week.
They would be meeting with the Tertiary Students Chapters of the Convention People’s Party (TESCHART) and find out from them how far they have gone with their membership registration exercise.
The party will hold its first Regional rally at Bogoso in the Western Region and continue at Winneba in the Central Region.
That would be followed by similar ones at Pusiga in the Upper East Region, Nandom in Upper West and Chereponi in the Northern Region.
In the Greater Accra Region, Dodowa is earmarked as the venue for the rally with Ofoase Ayerebi as the venue for the Eastern Region and Kejebi for the Volta rally.
The party has chosen Ofoase Kokoben in Ashanti Region as the campaign venue and Tuobodom in the Brong Ahafo Region.
According to the CPP leadership the selection of these areas were carefully made to conform to the legendary CPP organization at the grassroots level.
