The Assin Fosu Police have arrested someone suspected to be one of the six robbers who attacked and robbed passegers on the Assin Nkwanta- Assin Adubiase road at about 10.30pm on Monday 2nd June.
One of the victims was shot and killed in the attack.
The Police found seven mobile phones and some amount of money when a search was conducted on the suspect, known as Ali Sumanu Fulani.
Meanwhile, the suspect is in Police custody assisting with investigation.
Passengers in over fifteen commercial vehicles were reportedly robbed of their possessions, including money and phones.
According to eyewitness, one of the deceased was shot because he refused to comply with the robbers demand for money.
A driver of an articulated truck, presumably on seeing the shooting, drove through the barricades the robbers had set up.
The second man, who was driving behind the truck in a private car, tried to follow suit, but was shot dead in the process.
The police are therefore appealing to the public who have useful information on the rest to voluteer for a reward.
