The Spokesperson for Nana Akufo-Addo, flag bearer of the NPP, Mustapha Hamid has dismissed comments by the former First Lady that Nana Addo is not a lawyer.
He described the comments as misguided, saying they should be treated with contempt.
Mrs. Rawlings who was addressing the Greater Accra wing of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network of the NDC in Accra on Tuesday said Nana Addo had for too long been “lying about his own capacity and capabilities.”
“We cannot sit down for them to peddle these lies around,” she said.
According to her, Nana Addo never trained as a lawyer because “He did not go to any law school. He has been practicing in Ghana as a lawyer but he never went to law school”.
But Mr. Hamid told Joy News that the NPP flag-bearer was called to the Ghana Bar on July 8, 1975.
He said Mrs. Rawlings could be forgiven because it appeared she does not understand the processes leading to one becoming a lawyer.
