Six people are reported dead with 16 others injured, when a 207 Benz bus veered off the road at Bundase, on the Accra-Aflao road on Monday.
Four died on the spot, with the other two dying on arrival at the Bator District hospital.
The injured have been rushed to the hospital and are said to be receiving treatment.
Speaking to Joy News, Mr. Moses Asem, the District Chief Executive of the North Tongue Constituency said he spoke to one of the women on the accident ground only to be pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
He said four others are in critical condition.
According to him, most of the victims sustained injuries to the head, with lots of openings on their faces.
The cause of the accident is yet unknown.
Mr. Asem said the bus was located in the bush some few meters away from the road, with its door far apart.
“There were a lot of broken glasses with blood all over the place” he added.
Even though the whereabouts of the driver is unknown, Mr. Asem claimed he could be part of the victims.
“I don’t know the way it looks I don’t know if he will be alive”.
Survivors of the accident are said to be responding to treatment, but Doctors at the Bator Hospital are tight lipped as to whether there would be any more deaths.
This accident comes in the wake of another that claimed 16 lives at the Adomi bridge over the week- end.
