The skipper of relegated Accra Great Olympics Francis Mantey is unsure of his future at the club.
The captain’s contract has expired and he says he cannot conclusively if he would be with the team in their journey back to the First Division.
“I will need about three weeks to decide if I will want to move or stay with Olympics.
“I could make a decision today and everything might change the next moment and that is what I’m hoping to prevent.”
The player led the Club back to the elite division when it was relegated three seasons ago but remains skeptical if the traditional club has an iota of chance of returning to the premiership next season.
“Lack of planning has been part of our bane this season and our coming back will partly be dependant on how such issues is handled.”
Mantey told GNA Sports that the “Wonder Club” made too many mistakes on and off the pitch and it behoves on lovers of the Club to come to a common vision to drive Olympics back to the division they exited with only 24 points.
He said surviving in the First Division also means paying attention to recruitment which he underscores would go a long way to determine their fate in the tier, which he termed “rough and tough”.
“One cannot depend on inexperienced players to excel at the Division One which is stiffer than the Premier League.
“It is important that players with character and experience are recruited if the Club yearns to return to the elite division soon.”
Olympics struggled all season with chains of poor results that placed them at the bottom of the league from the very start.
