The NPP Member of Parliament for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong has attacked the former president and the NDC describing them as murderers who killed NPP polling station officers during the last election in the Kumbungu constituency.
Mr. Agyapong was not happy with what he called complacency on the part of his own part,y the New Patriotic Party which he said had allowed Mr. Rawlings to hold the nation to ransom with what he described as his useless comments.
The comments by the NPP MP did not go down well the Deputy Communications Director of the NDC, Seth Ofori Hene who fired back at Mr. Agyapong describing him as “crazy”.
“Mind those irresponsible comments [that] you make. Am not afraid of you I can handle you at all angles” he dared Mr. Agyepong.
The two political foes engaged each other in a heated debate on Adom FM’s political talk show, “Dea-Mehunu”.
So hot were the exchanges that Mr. Seth Ofori Hene threatened to boycott the discussion if Kennedy Agyapong was not called to order.
The Deputy Director of communications said they in the NDC agreed with the ex-president that the nation was engulfed in fear borne out of a smartly crafted intimidation by the NPP administration.
But the NPP MP rejected the assertion claiming that the ex-president came as a poor leader but now owns a mansion at East Legon.
He asked the NDC members to ask the ex-president where he got the money for that kind of investment.
Unceremoniously the Propaganda Secretary of the NDC, Fiifi Kwetey stormed into the discussion and called Mr. Agyapong a drug dealer who is part of a regime that supports drug peddling.
He accused the Attorney-General of discontinuing several drug cases in court to let the culprits off justice.
