Sixty selected youths in the Jasikan District of the Volta Region are expected to assist two hospitals, clinics and health posts in the District under the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP).
Solomon Donkor, the District Chief Executive, who announced this to at Jasikan, said a day's orientation course will be organised for the personnel.
He said the move was aimed at filling gaps created by the exodus of nurses from the country for greener pastures abroad and that the selected youths will be provided with uniforms and placed on an undisclosed monthly allowance.
Mr. Donkor also said the NYEP in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service will after the orientation, organize two months intensive training and four months practical work for the youths to enable them provide good services.
He advised the personnel to be hard working and remain sincere to the assembly.
