The Reverend Father Sylvester Mawusi, Catholic Priest of the St Augustine Catholic Church at Hohoe has advised adherent Christians to make reconciliation an attribute of God, their hallmark.
He said retaliation was anti-developmental, and should not be countenanced by Christians.
Rev. Father Mawusi was delivering a sermon at a thanksgiving church service to herald the first anniversary of Volta Foundation, a development oriented non-governmental organisation (NGO), at Hohoe.
He exhorted Christians to let love and compassion feature prominently in their lives as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
Rev. Father Mawusi entreated the Church to minister to the material needs of its members as much as their spiritual growth or development, and asked "how could members concentrate on the word when they are hard pressed with their basic needs".
He, therefore, called on the Church and State to collaborate efforts to provide the basic needs of the people and commended the NGO for recognizing the power of God, the source of all good things.
Raymond Okudzeto, President of the Foundation, said its aim was to harness both human and material resources of the region for accelerated socio-economic development.
He urged the people in the region to shun 'pull-him-down' attitude and re-position themselves to face contemporary challenges.
Present at the event was Miss Pamela Bridgewater, US ambassador in Ghana and in attendance was the Tema Youth Choir, which provided the congregation with songs which drew everybody to the dancing floor.
