A Cape Coast circuit court on Monday, remanded in prison custody, Samuel Boateng, a former tutor of a private junior high school at Breman-Asikuma, who allegedly abducted a 14-year old student of the school for eight days and defiled her.
Boateng 19, who pleaded guilty to abduction and not guilty to defilement, would re-appear on July 2.
He told the court that the victim willingly came to stay with him because her parents had travelled and there was nobody at home.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Augustine Amonoo, told the court presided over by Mr Beresford Acquah that on the afternoon of April 28, this year, the victim who was returning home from vacation classes she the accused who invited her to his room and gave her some water to drink.
He said the victim became drowsy after drinking the water and was defiled and when she regained consciousness, realized she was ill and informed the accused but he locked her up for eight days and later asked her to go to her grandmother at Winneba and she obliged.
Police Chief Inspector Amonoo said during the period, the victim’s parents had reported to the school’s authorities that she was missing and they were making frantic efforts to locate her.
He said the victim was not found until May 5, when another teacher from the school saw her alighting from a vehicle at Breman-Asikuma and questioned her.
The prosecution said she narrated her ordeal to the teacher, who sent her to her parents and a report was made to the police who arrested the accused and after investigations charged with the offence.
