A 37-year-old labourer at Fantra-Kese near Enchi in the Western Region has dealt a triple blow to his employer.
First, the labourer, Kooka Gyaga allegedly impregnated the daughter of his boss, then stole his money to perform the marriage rites and, two months later, impregnated the employer’s wife as well.
The 18-year-old girl and her mother are currently carrying four and two months’ pregnancies respectively.
The court was told that Kooka first impregnated the 18-year-old daughter of his employer.
Angered by that action, the girl’s father, a cocoa farmer, demanded that Kooka perform the necessary marriage rites.
The court heard that Kooka stole his way into the master’s room through the roof and stole GH¢200 and used part of it to perform the initial “knocking rite” for the pregnant girl, with the promise that he would complete the marriage rites after her delivery.
According to the prosecution, the girl’s mother fell sick while the husband had been away from the town for some weeks, where Kooka volunteered to buy medicine for the sick woman.
According to the prosecution, Kooka returned with valium and deceived the employer’s wife into taking it, causing her to sleep and subsequently took advantage of the situation and raped her.
The result, according to the prosecution, was the pregnancy.
Kooka Gyaga has been remanded by the Tarkwa Magistrate court to re-appear in two weeks.
