The flag bearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, says he would not hesitate to accede to a court request on him to show up.
Dr Nduom who is in the United States for what party officials call family business, told Joy News in a telephone interview that he respects the law and would make sure he obeys the court’s order.
A High Court Judge in Ho, Justice Essel Mensah Essel, on Thursday issued a warrant for the arrest of Dr Nduom for contempt charges brought against him by the party’s Regional Chairman and Secretary.
Dr Nduom regretted the development, blaming it on his busy schedules which made his body guard fail to furnish him with the details of the letter.
He explained that he was only served with “an envelop” in Kpando where he met with party executives.
Dr Nduom expressed the belief his inclusion in the contempt charge was because of a Central Committee meeting he had attended at which the court case involving the Regional Party Chairman came up.
Asked whether his security detail had told him of the content of the letter, he said “that is neither here nor there,” but cautioned “its just a family matter and it won’t get far.”
