The timely intervention of police personnel in the Volta Region prevented a group of youth from raiding the residence of Nyonyo Agboada.
He is one of the claimants to the Anlo stool.
The opposing faction to Nyonyo Agboada allegedly suspected that some ammunition were being kept at the palace and were determined to raid the palace to retrieve them.
The Keta Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Kofi Ahiabor however told Joy News the police who conducted a search in the residence did not find any ammunition.
He said police are currently patrolling the Anlo township to avert any disturbance of the peace.
Meanwhile, a Keta circuit court on Monday remanded 9 people who were arrested in connection with the weekend's shootout at Anloga into prison custody.
They are to assist the police in investigations into the cause of the shootings.
They will reappear before the court on May 22.
The nine suspects were among a number of people wielding guns in the clear view of Mr. Ahiabor after the exchange of gun fire on Saturday dawn.
Reports say they were charged with illegal possession of firearms, possession of offensive weapons and rioting.
The Anloga area has been saddled with a protracted chieftaincy dispute that has resulted in the loss of lives and property.
Following several interventions there was relative peace until Saturday dawn when some young people from both sides of the dispute exchanged gunfire.
To avert further violence the Volta Regional police command has beefed up security in the Anloga township.
The regional police commander DCOP Bernard Dery speaking to Joy News on the crisis, denied reports suggesting that some individuals have began carting weapons to the area.
He however, said the police have retrieved two short guns from some individuals.
According to him, an executive instrument prohibiting the carrying and use of fire arms in the Anloga area is still in force.
He noted that anyone found with weapons will be dealt with according to the law.
