The Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Dr. Kwabena Adjei has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of mismanaging the country’s economy.
He said the ruling party’s attitude has resulted in a national debt of over GH¢ 7.8 million.
According to him, general economic hardships precipitated by increasing utility tariffs, frequent water shortages and surging food prices are the results of bad governance practices.
Dr. Adjei was speaking at the inauguration of the Holland branch of the NDC in Amsterdam over the weekend.
He said an NDC government will ensure that the debt burden on the country was reduced.
He expressed regret that despite the huge debt forgiveness enjoyed under the HIPC initiative, the country was still saddled with such a huge debt.
The NDC Chairman also accused the NPP of practising politics of vindictiveness.
He claimed he heard NDC supporters who were putting up with NPP members were ejected if they made their political leanings to the NDC known.
He blamed the NPP supporters for painting a bad picture about the country through such attitude.
