This was contained in a statement issued in Koforidua and signed by Mr Yaw Gyekye-Amoabeng, Eastern Regional Chairman of the Party and copied to the media.
It said the dissolution was based on recommendations of the Eastern Regional Disciplinary Committee of the Party after investigations into conflicts among members of the executive which was likely to divide its support base in the constituency.
“In our quest to find lasting peace in Akyem Oda Constituency, we urge all the factions involved to respect the decision and resort to due process in the event of expressing any misgivings,” it added.
The statement appealed to members of the executive committee to abide by the decision in the supreme interest of the Party and urged supporters of the Party in the constituency to exercise restrain and not relent in their support for the Party while measures were being instituted to give the constituency a new leadership.
