Apostle Samuel Gyamfi, Chairman of Bethel Prayer Ministry International at the weekend called on the government to
involve churches in the National Youth Employment Programme to help ease the rate of unemployment among the youth in the congregation.
He said churches were made up of identifiable youth groups who could be engaged in the various areas that would help the sustainability and development of the programme.
Apostle Gyamfi was delivering a sermon on the theme: “the new beginning” to climax a three-day Easter convention of the Ministry in Sunyani.
He commended the government for the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme and the NYEP and appealed to Ghanaians to participate fully during the national identification programme that would benefit the entire citizenry.
Apostle Gyamfi appealed to religious and political party leaders to be circumspect in their preaching and eschew all sorts of statements that could expose them to public ridicule and disrepute.
He implored the youth to abstain from unhealthy practices and behaviour that could ruin their future and concentrate on their books to enable them to achieve high academic laurels.
Mr. Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister advised members of the church to rekindle their soul and pray unceasingly towards peaceful elections.
He explained that Easter represented a very important festivity in the Christian calendar and urged the public to use the occasion to reconcile with each other, promote togetherness and assist each other in all spheres of life.
Mr. Baffour-Awuah entreated the youth not to channel their exuberant spirit into unhealthy practices but rather venture into productive activities that would make them self-reliance.
