The Nkwanta District Chief Executive, Mr Joseph B. Denteh has appealed to the people of the area to co-operate and collaborate with the team of experts in the district to complete geological mapping and mineral prospecting exercises.
He said the District Security Council would not countenance any acts of sabotage and other forms of indiscipline targeted at derailing the exercise.
Mr Denteh was addressing chiefs, assembly members, opinion leaders and other stakeholders at a one-day workshop.
The workshop became necessary following the stoppage of the exercise by some inhabitants of Kwadjo Ohene village.
Work on the project was temporary halted last November when the experts reported threats on their lives by some matchet-wielding inhabitants of Kwadjo Ohene village.
The villagers thought the exercise was an attempt to seize their land. Mr Denteh appealed to the citizens to commit their synergies towards the success of the project.
The participants said the exercise should continue but pleaded that local labour is engaged in consultation with chiefs and elders.
