They are all over the place these days ready to pounce on some 'unsuspecting' man. These women are in their early twenties. They blame it on economic hardships and a dwindling of the male species.
Perhaps the hardships and the statistics of there being more women than men could be a case in point. But these days, it seems the young women out to grab these men are getting younger and younger. The 18-year-olds seem to think, it is the order of the day to grab someone's husband, milk him and leave him for dead.
The men seem to love the adoration and attention. It makes them feel young and wanted.
Meanwhile, when their wives of twenty odd years give them that attention, they fob it all off with the claim they should leave all the lovey dovey to the young ones who are starry-eyed and in love. He is too old in the tooth. But he is putty in the hands of this chit of a girl. And that is fine and dandy. He will claim, his wife is a spendthrift and will fritter away their pension money if he does not put his foot down. But this is the same man who will fritter away millions and millions on this very young girl, so his ego can be rubbed, not to mention his huge pot belly and all besides.
They say charity begins at home and I believe, upbringing plays a huge part in the behaviour of some of these girls. Then comes peer pressure. But if the upbringing is strong and steadfast, it is not easy for these girls to behave this way. The love of material things, like clothes, trips abroad, mobile phones and all the frivolities puts them in the mode to go after rich old men who also need a dose of young "blood".
The game then begins in earnest. After a while, these girls are so addicted to this kind of life they don't know any better. Soon, age catches up with them, their age groups have mostly got married. So the next best thing is to latch on to a well seasoned rich old man, have one or two children and try to become the wife in the end. If this doesn't work, they will latch on to their age-mates who are married anyway, have a child with them. They will also claim life has not been fair to them.
But they forgot they run before they walked. When their age mates were being courted by their age mates, they were having a whale of a time shopping in some of the world's hip shops, driving in fancy cars and generally living it up.
Very soon, they are in their 30's and their biological clocks are ticking over-time. But where are the single men to stop the ticking? All married I am afraid. The married men or whoever was on the horizon becomes the man to carry her dreams forward. And these women will stop at nothing to get what they want.
Sadly, after they have achieved their goals, most of these men will have nothing to do with them. Like my uncle, always says "you wanted a child, you got one now, scoot!!"
Suddenly their marriages of 10 years and more become important to them. You are out on your ear, Oh! He might look after the child financially and all that but you aint getting a piece of him again. So you end up back at square one and it spirals. You move from married man to married man, perhaps having another child along the way (lessons still not learnt). And it goes on for a long time if these women don't stop the roller coaster in its tracks. But it is always the beginning that really matters. If the foundations are shaky, the rest will fall like a deck of cards.
When I am out, I watch a lot of these young ones hanging on to the arms of these decrepit men who hanker after a bit of young skin, flat tummies and breasts standing at right angles. And I wonder what kind of life they are fashioning out for themselves. Psychologically, some of these young women have the need to belong. They need a father figure because they did not have one in their childhood. Or had one but he was not around to share in the upbringing.
Sometimes the mothers indulge in this pastime and so the daughters see it as the order of the day. The mothers have a hard time telling their daughters not to do the same. It becomes a vicious cycle. Then there are those who think having the material things is what makes them hip.
The more gold bangles the better. And when they wake up from their slumber and want a man to cherish and call their own, they are nowhere to be found. It can be a miserable life for some of these women. This is where they say life's a bitch, then you die".
There are those women who get caught out in some of these relationships but get out in time when they realise their folly. But it is those who set out to go this way who almost never wake up to smell the roses. It is always too late for them.
