The Mankrong-Junction Police have mounted a search for the arrest of about 50 youth who attacked Kwame Donkoh, a 45 year-old farmer and his family on February when was sending his sick son for treatment at Nyamebekyere.
Mr Donkoh, his wife and two sons who were travelling from Agona Kwanyako in a hired taxi were attacked at Nyanoa, near Agona Akwakwaa and subjected to severe beatings after the people had suspected them of abducting the little boy (his son) Master Awal Mohammed, aged 16.
Inspector Peter Ofosu, Mankrong-Junction Station Officer said on 1st February, 2007 Mr Donkoh and his wife were sending their son, Mohammed, who was sick to a Pastor at Nyamebekyere for treatment.
The Station Officer said on reaching a point on the road, two vehicles behind the one conveying Mr. Donkoh and his family overtook their taxi.
He said when they saw Awal screaming and shouting following the pains he was going through as a result of his sickness, the people of the village suspecting that the child had been abducted and was crying for help, attacked them and subjected them to beatings.

He said despite pleadings by the victims that they were not “abductors and killers” the people refused to accept their explanations.
Inspector Ofosu stated that the youth attacked Mr Donkoh and threatened to set those on the taxi ablaze.
